Yes, it’s that time of year! The Community Hall is once again hosting its annual Salmon BBQ on Saturday, August 10th – it will be the best ever! Proceeds go to support the Community Hall and its many activities. The hard-working and efficient coordinator is once again Julie Stewart. A thousand thanks, Julie!

We look forward to a great day with four hours of local entertainment and of course, fresh salmon and all the trimmings. There will be a raffle, silent auction, face painting, and a kids’ area. Beer and Gabbie’s Premium Cider from Ravenskill Orchards will be available. Gertie can deliver you to and from the Hall.

We have a multitude of loyal and hard-working volunteers who faithfully turn out every year in the planning and execution of the barbecue. But there is always room for more help especially with organizing beer sales, setting up the site, helping with the raffle, picking up various items and delivering them to the Hall, cooking potatoes for the salad, helping with finding more volunteers, and so on.

If you would like to lend a hand, please contact Julie at gicha.salmonbbq@gmail.com.

Tom MacLachlan is organizing the entertainment, which is always spectacular. If you would like to perform, please contact Tom at tommaclachlan@shaw.ca.

Elizabeth Iachelli (our Vice-President) is organizing the raffle and silent auction. Donations are needed and gratefully accepted. If you would like to donate an item, please contact Elizabeth at eiachelli@yahoo.com.

Tickets will go on sale on July 1st and will be available at Colleen’s Home Fashions, North Road Sports, and online at the Salmon BBQ page on the Community Hall’s website.

See you there!

Yours,

Peter Jones
